David Joshua Levy

David Joshua Levy composed, arranged, and produced orchestral music for film and network TV from 2003 – 2008 with the legendary Oscar and Emmy award winning composer Patrick Williams. He co-founded Threshold Music with Patrick where they managed a team of composers and arrangers to create music for international ad campaigns for brands such as Porsche, JP Morgan Chase, and Toyota.

David was a co-founder and board member (2004 – 2008) of the voter education non-profit known as Young Progressive Majority which he formed in partnership with Democracy Alliance. David led the organization’s voter registration program as well as its national education program promoting the importance of participating in local civic affairs. Under David’s leadership YPM hosted engagement events with civic leaders such as Mayor Eric Garcetti, Senator Russ Feingold, and Ariana Huffington.

From 2008 – 2010, while earning his MBA at Vanderbilt University, David trained as an associate in Goldman Sach’s investment advisory division where he developed a nuanced understanding of capital markets and asset management that he would then apply to a wide variety of professional ventures in the coming years.

As VP of Strategy and Development at PAX Scientific (September 2010 – May
2012) David brought investors, customers, and strategic partners to the company from a wide array of industries and international economic centers. At PAX Scientific, he also co-founded the water distillation subsidiary PAX Pure.

As a systems innovation consultant for Bay Area based Further by Design (2012 – 2014), David brought capital and strategic partnerships to clients such as NASA, USAID, IDEO, Microsoft, NIKE, The Kellog Foundation, The Walmart Foundation, and The Susan G Komen Foundation.

From 2014 – 2016 David served as Managing Director at Benedict Canyon Equities, Inc. in Los Angeles where he raised the $65 million BCE Fund III which in turn was deployed by the firm to acquire $1.5 billion in real estate assets.

David co-founded Major Chord with Max Botkin in 2018, where he produces and develops creative IP as well as raises capital for financing TV and film projects.

In 2019 David became a founding partner in Conservation International’s Surf Conservation Partnership, whose mission is to nurture the planet by focusing on the well being of a crucial network of pristine ecosystems and the communities that inhabit them.

David holds a BA in History and a BA in Music from Northwestern University (2000) and an MBA from Vanderbilt University (2010).
